Cab-view ride Re 4/4 II

Experience the historic Gotthard Railway in a special way: fulfill your dream or surprise someone else. In the driver's cab of the Re 4/4 II, which pulls the Gotthard Panorama Express, you will travel from Arth-Goldau through the breathtaking Gotthard massif to Lugano or vice versa.
The cab rides will be offered between mid-April and mid-October 2026 as follows.
From Lugano to Arth-Goldau every Friday
From Arth-Goldau to Lugano every Thursday and Friday
The following services are included in the Gotthard Panorama Express cab-view ride:
Ride in the driver's cab on the Re 4/4 II locomotive. (Travel time approx. 2.5 hours)
An expert guide who will introduce you to the world of railways during the journey, explain the technology in the driver's cab, and point out highlights along the route.
Written route description with explanations of signals.
First-class ticket including supplement for an accompanying person on the Gotthard Panorama Express for the corresponding route.
Travel to and from the venue is not included in the price.
Important information:
Good physical condition and health are required for the cab ride, as you must climb onto the locomotive independently. The locomotive is not wheelchair accessible.
Due to the limited space in the locomotive, the cab ride can only be booked for one person.
It is not possible to use the toilet during the entire trip.
The minimum age is 16 years.
The offer is available in German, Italian, French, and English.
